Yet another sudden hearing loss after steady for 5 years

Unfortunately at the end of July I had another setback in hearing loss. The audiogram is posted. After being stable for 5 years I woke up with further decreased hearing ability in my left ear. I received an intratympanic steroid injection. There was some improvement as I was retested on August 27th, and given another injection. The otolaryngology team is close to recommending cochlear implant, which I am against. The physician recommended a cerebral MRI to see if there is anything else going on, and that will happen soon.

I performed another fitting of my Phonak Lumity 90s to reflect the July 30th test results.

Within Target, I’ve always performed the recommended Feedback Threshold Test, and whistle block is on for all programs, sound recover 2 is on.

I’ve always favored Adaptive Phonak Digital (ADP) over NAL NL-2 as I thought ADP sounded more natural. Given this latest loss, I don’t think clarity matters much anymore.

I’m comparing the fitting results of NAL NL-2 (top) and ADP (bottom) and noticed on NAL NL-2 G50 amplification crosses Measured Feedback Threshold at 4Khz.

If I used NAL NL-2 instead of ADP, what is the downside? Is amplification hindered at 4 Khz? Would I be missing G50 sounds at 4 Khz and above?
