Would I benefit from a Rodger device?

I have hereditary high frequency hearing loss.
I was told by the fitters at Costco that they couldn’t adjust my hearing aids anymore to help me make out what people are saying when at a restaurant or crowded place. I was told the only thing that would help me is a Rodger like device. I have included my audiogram. Any advice would be wonderful. I currently am wearing Kirkland KS10s.

It depends on your maker of hearing aids and weather Roger are compatible with the aids. But most hearing aid manufacturers do have assistive listening equipment made for their hearing aids. I have such assistive listening device and have found them very beneficial in hearing better in noisy situations and gaining better understanding. But only you can decide if it is worth the extra money to purchase it and the benefit vs cost.

Whoops! I am wearing Kirkland KS10s

The Roger comes in two versions. The in and on. For your version of hearing aid being similar to marvel would require the in version for the software. I use the Roger in version 2 and have found it to be very effective and versatile just make sure you get the version in with the software. If you have the success that I have had your in for a treat. There are other assistive hearing devices that Phonak make that are cheaper and just as effective like table mic, clip, and tv check out their website… These too are affordable and effective. Hopefully this will help you.

I wear a newish Jabra HA, member of the ReSound family. It utilizes the external (hand-held or table) Multi-Mic for extra sound pickup in a noisy environment. MUCH CHEAPER than a Roger device. There is a similar ‘external mic’ that works with the KS10’s; it’s Partner Mic. But you shouldn’t need to spend thousands of dollars. Elsewhere on this forum I read that people have bought a Partner Mic on eBay for under $75.

I do believe that they would work with and/or without the In version. You would have to have the 03 licenses installed which can be bought separately then used with any Roger except the education mics.

The Roger On will work with the KS10s. You need Roger licenses in each hearing aid. The Roger On iN has licenses which can be transfered to your hearing aids. These cost in the neighborhood of $1,600 new but you can get them much cheaper on Ebay.

You might. Hard to tell unless you try one. The KS10 are compatible with Roger iN devices. (These include the receiver licenses that get transferred to your hearing aids) There is a lot of info on these devices on the forum. As others have mentioned they are pricy. You’d like want either a Roger On iN or a Roger Select iN (older model–not as fancy as Roger On)

The problem is the non in version doesn’t have the software to activate the roger device receivers in the hearing aids. I had the same problem and called to verify it. It be nice if you didn’t the other version is cheeper.

Which device would work with my Costco km10s?

If you mean “KS10’s”, the PartnerMic (under $75) should work for you (cheaper than a $$$Roger device). Read more above.
