New hearing aid user. Questions about wax guards and domes

Mild to moderately severe loss in both ears. Recently fitted with phonak lumity 90 hearing aids in electric green. Really don’t realize what you can’t hear until you can hear it again! How often should I change wax guard and domes?

Try to start by changing every Month. As a reminder I write down the exchange-date on the back of the package.

Love that electric green.

Also, that’s a nice hearing loss. I know that’s a weird thing to say, but when clinicians are looking for a patient who will get great benefit from hearing aids, that sort of gently sloping mild to moderate hearing loss is ideal.

Be sure to closely examine and manually clean them pretty much every day. I use a thin microfiber cloth. My ears tend to be really clean, like zero wax buildup, so the domes and filters don’t really collect much of anything and I go months between changes with no problems. Those who have a lot of wax or work in dusty/dirty environments need to do it more often.

I giggled at this comment. My audiologist said something similar. Thanks for the compliment on the color! I don’t mind them being visible and bright green is one of my favorite colors!
