Hearing loss percentage

Hi everyone

I recently went for my yearly workplace physical, I’m a train driver(engineer for our North American readers😊). Amazingly my unaided hearing is deemed acceptable, but right on the limit, for the time being.
It’s a stressful anual event for me.
On this last review, the nurse asked me what my percentage of hearing loss is. I have never had my hearing loss expressed as a percentage before, so when I told her I didn’t know she looked at me as if I was stupid for not knowing this.
Could somebody here explain how this is calculated, my audiogram is attached to my profile.
Thanking you all for your time :relaxed:

I am with you.
Percentage hearing loss means nothing to me but we hear it often described this way.

I also don’t know how to express loss as a percentage.

Probably the look she was giving you was, “how do I fill out this stupid form”.

(Tangentially, the CRA recently updated their disability tax credit form and the number of audiologists they consulted when they overhauled the hearing section was: none.)
