Bone conduction headphones and hearing loss

I’ve heard of bone conduction headphones and it’s quite interesting. It got me thinking would they work for someone who has a more severe sensorineural hearing loss or a bone conduction loss to hear music and such without hearing aids?

Bone conduction yes, SNL no. Bone conduction takes the vibration straight to the cochlea, avoiding issues with middle ear bones. But if the cochlea isn’t sensing sound, there’s no magic to get it into the brain. CI uses electrical impulses, but surgery is necessary to get those in there.

I have tried bone conduction headphones before and enjoyed being able to just feel the vibrations even if I couldn’t make out what was being said.
