I will be 65 on July 29, 2021. I am a commercial construction estimator. I played drums in rock and roll bands until I ended my 40 year music career in my early 50s due to severe damage to my hearing. I struggled with severe hearing lose until about 4 years ago when I had an audiologist test me and prescribe hearing aids. I got a pair of Signia Cellion 5. They worked very well. The audiologist gave me a price and I found the same exact model on the Buy Hear website. I asked her to match the price which was $1000 less and she refused and got visibly angry. Recently (4 years later) I noticed that my right aid was not working correctly. It finally stopped working and I went to a different audiologist. She put me in an exam room, put a light in my ear, looked at my hearing aid and told me that Signia sucks, told me they didn’t even want to try to fix it and that the only solution was new hearing aids. She charged me $60 for shining a light in my ear and tough luck. Subsequently, I found an unopened brand new set of Signia Cellion 7 on Ebay which I immediately bought for $800. When I finally received them, they were brand new but 1 of the wires was for a different model. I complained to Ebay and long story short, the seller didn’t respond and I got a free pair of hearing aids. I also had a computer that Buy Hear sent me with all of the stuff needed to program them as Buy Hear and every other online seller has gone out of business. Conspiracy theory? Makes me wonder. I still purchased the Bose hearing aids on the 1st day they were available. 5 Days in and I love them. The Celleion 7 are now my back up pair. As a severely hearing impaired person, I think this is an exciting time for people like me. Being able to hear again is way exciting. Being able to afford the solution is a tremendous thing for those that previously couldn’t. that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
