Phonak Target software download new

Trialing the spheres at this time. So far I think I will be purchasing them. Would it be possible to get the target software for a new install please

Hi there, great your giving DIY a go, be sure to do some research and read the user guides before starting, you’ll need the Noahlink wireless programming device as well for your DIY projects.

Hi! Would someone be able to share the Phonak Target software please?

Semi-confident DIYer but haven’t need to make any changes for years and have lost the software.

Edit: I’ve got an icube2 which I think requires version 6 or lower?

Cheers!

Hi there. I have the Noahlink Wireless 2 and Phonak Audéo Sphere Infinio. Would it be possible to get the Target software, please?

Welcome to the forum, yes you’ll be fine with 5 or 6 version, pretty old stuff nowadays, hopefully you’ll get them sounding how you like ; )

Hello, I’d like the Phonak Target 10 software too. I already have the Noah Wireless 2 device and I use Phonak Naida L90 UP. I’ve done my research for DIY with the corresponding user guides as well. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum, great your giving DIY a go, good to hear you’ve done your homework on researching and reading the user guides before starting, as you can imagine it’s very helpful for setting up the first time.

I went to the audiologist, and she completed the fitting, including REM. However, I noticed I hear better when I adjust the equalizer and settings in the MyPhonak app. I use automatic program but i can’t hear well. I have access to Target but didn’t plan to use it because I’m afraid my audiologist might find out that I used it at home. Still, I feel it might be better to handle the fitting myself. I initially thought adjusting the settings in the MyPhonak app was the same as fitting in Target, but is it different? I’m now considering using Target after the audiologist completely finishes the parts I can’t do at home (like REM). In addition, audiologist didn’t add spheric in loud program and didn’t adjust for streaming (I hear music from iPhone but music sounds awful)

Yep this can happen, not everyone is happy after the first fit, even with REM (which is just another tool in the box) doesn’t guarantee a good fit, the thing here is that your Audiologist and REM doesn’t know how you like to hear things, obviously only you know this which is why DIY projects can be the way forward for some.

Well you don’t need to worry about this, there seems to be this urban myth that there’s something “wrong” with doing this, just remember that these are your HAs and that the Audiologist works for you, it’s not the other way around! You do what you like with them ; )

Very different, you’ll need to do your research and read the user guides before jumping in for any DIY.

Exactly what DIY is for, so certainly looks like it’s a DIY project for you

Just installed Windows on my Intel MacBook Pro via Boot Camp, and would appreciate a download of Phonak Target, which I assume is the right software to tweak my KS10s. I’d like to get familiar with the program before I invest in a Noah Link Wireless 2, and make sure the software will run properly. Trying to avoid investing in a Windows laptop!

Hi there, great your giving DIY a go, please be sure to research and read the user guides before starting your DIY projects as it’s very helpful for setting up the first time, and you should just go ahead and get the Noahlink wireless programming device as this can be used on the latest from Phonak and of course all the other brands if you decide to switch.

Can you PM me the Target down load link?

Currently trialing the Spheres in NYC. Into my second week appreciate mode of ‘noise in environment’ helping just a bit. Music mode both manual by audiologist and preprogrammed not going well with me. Next audiologist appointment in 11 days.
I have Noahlink Wireless from eBay NIB. Would appreciate link to Target 10 to start finer tuning for music (chorus rehearsals).
Thanks.

Add.: Audiologist claims that new hardware enable REM without usual external REM device. Please critique me whether this is correct. or not.

True REM always require microphone probe in your ear canal, with his tip about 2-3mm close to the eardrum. See Dr Cliff YouTube canal about REM.

I know that the audiologist works for me, and I have the right to use my HAs as I wish. However, I’m concerned whether it’s illegal to use Target, and if I could get into trouble for it.

I’ll opine on the final question.

REM is all about assessing the degree to which your HAs are actually performing by putting sounds through them and independently measuring how the HA are presenting those sounds at/near the eardrum.

Manufacturers are doing a lot of jiggery-pokery to improve the clarity of sounds and are using emulation tools such as in-built ‘REM’ and in-situ tone generation to arrive at a computed Audiogram.

While helpful, none of these tools are replacements for properly conducted REM and Air/Bone conduction pure tone testing performed with independent calibrated equipment and sound-proofed booths/rooms. The in-situ Audiogram for example outputs a tone that the wearer selects as soon as it is heard, along with tones that map the uncomfortable level. That Audiogram may be very effective FOR THAT HA PAIR, but the tones are entirely dependent on how those HAs were manufactured and factory - tuned (if any).

I use my Target software to ‘re-tune’ my Phonak Paradise by using the inbuilt audiogram production every few months, and it’s great for that. But, it’s not an objective audiogram. As for REM, I can’t see it being done by the HAs themselves so I see such claims by professionals largely as spoofing designed to cut corners and avoid spending time on maximising the clients’ care. Some stats say that only 30-ish% of audiologists in US actually use REM in fittings and that speaks volumes in itself. I’m in Ireland and I’ve not been able to have REM done ever.
