It’s beta firmware. There are often problems with beta firmware. It will probably be fine when they release the final public version.
I hope so, they could delay it to 14.1 or something similar…
Who knows? Apple has announced the feature so they will want to release it, But betas are often only partial software releases. They often have known problems and other times they have candidate fixes for issues but these turn out to be inefficient.
Only after going through several betas will a manufacturer will issue a Release Candidate (or sometimes it’s called Gold release candidate) with everything in that they think is working well. That may got through RC2, RC3 etc as well, but after that it gets released to everyone. But sometimes a new feature may get held over for a “point release” so going from 17.0 to 17.1 for example.
The fact that the feature isn’t working in beta 1 or beta 2 isn’t particularly significant or even that interesting, unless Apple have specifically asked for beta testing reports on that feature (which I don’t believe they have).
Apple has done this before…
Yes. That’s my point. But equally they have often released things on schedule.
Beta 14.0 - still doesnt work
You mean updated 14.0 beta 3 build? I think that just contains security update from RSR security update
Try the new public beta - maybe this will work for people, not for developers only?
No, MFI doesn’t work on public beta either… dev and public beta have similar build numbers which tells me that they took the dev beta and renamed it… MFI isn’t a priority for Apple it seem…
So we must buy accessories for listen from Mac. I hope BT LE Audio will solve this problem.
No it does not mean that…
Why? Bluetooth LE Audio will be an universal standard working in any consumer electronics. So MFI have no any perspectives.
That what i’m referring to…
I think there is a lessened learned here. There is so much unrealistic expectation that Apple is a perfect company. They are very good but not perfect. Keep in mind, their engineers are human. Even the smartest people make mistake. Hell i do too, I feel them because as a fellow engineer developing high tech novel software. there are times where i have to stop on my track and abandon the buggy feature in question to focus on more pressing issue at the time. When all other features are implemented and bug free, then i can go back to the feature and fix it up knowing all other feature are stable because a simple bug in one place can manifest everywhere else like a domino effect…
Moral of story, Software is hard and can break easily because human nature to make mistake.
I’ve come across someone who has shown me that his Oticon More 1 with 1.4.3 firmware are working on Sonoma Public Beta. He can pair them and get sound through them. Can anyone else confirm this?
What gives. What’s different between More 1 and Xceed 1 wrt to LEA?
Which Mac is he using?
M1 Max - don’t know beyond that.
Thank you. Fingers crossed that all Apple Silicon, M1,M2,M…, going forward will all be hearing aid compatible.
I think Apple already said they won’t support basic M1, only Pro or Max. No idea why. Anyway, I’ve sent the link for this topic to the guy. Hopefully he will post the screenshots here.
