We’ve been talking about it for 4 years but the spec was completed 2 years ago. It’s a product that’s competing against older versions of itself. It’s also a product that won’t work unless you buy two devices that have it. Major disencentive. I don’t think it was ever going to happen overnight.
TBVH @tenkan I would much prefer to be100% wrong, and hopefully I am! We can all envision the advantages of Auracast, in the immortal words of “The Bard, Robert Burns;
Then let us pray that come it may,
As come it will for a’ that,
That Sense and Worth, o’er a’ the earth
Shall bear the gree an’ a’ that.
For a’ that, an’ a’ that,
It’s comin yet for a’ that,
That Man to Man the warld o’er
Shall brithers be for a’ that.“
There are some lines in that stanza that might be deemed appropriate, and if nothing else they are beautiful words… Cheers Kev
Android 15 Beta 2 has been released.
- Significant improvements have been made to LE Audio, addressing clock synchronization problems, pairing and bonding experiences, and packet drops for a smoother, higher-quality audio and hearing aid experience.
I’m not sure why the link is now opening in an asian language. You can switch to English within the site.
Hopefully Samsung will open the beta testing soon.
This one is also important as current LE Audio protocol phones use ASHA protocol in dual mode as well.
- BLE Reliability:
- Addressed a critical Bluetooth connection issue affecting dual-mode devices with LE random address.
- LE Audio Enhancements:
- Significant improvements have been made to LE Audio, addressing clock synchronization problems, pairing and bonding experiences, and packet drops for a smoother, higher-quality audio and hearing aid experience.
I am happy to hear this. Thank you for posting @d_Wooluf!
Yes, they normally are.
There might be some benefit, eventually, for both hearing impaired and “normal” people, but its not something I’m anticipating in the near future. I have every kind of hearing aid connection I need. I see this as a potential minor, occasional, eventual improvement.
For me to see benefit from it, all I’d have to do would be to buy an Auracast transmitter for my tv. Yes, I can get a transmitter now. Proprietary (and I’ll probably be changing brands soon so the investment would be wasted) and expensive. With an Auracast transmitter my wife could get the appropriate earbuds and we could watch tv together without disturbing the rest of the family. My legion of hearing-impaired friends could come over and watch tv with me. Ok, I made the last one up, but still…
Btw, I’ve seen three posts on Reddit from theatre managers asking about Auracast. I found that surprising and encouraging.
GN/Jabra is releasing the Jabra Elite 10 gen 2 and Jabra Elite 8 Active gen 2 Earbuds with LE Audio in the next 7 days.
And it will connect to legacy devices making them LE Audio capable:
Jabra’s Bluetooth LE Audio smart case transforms your listening experience. Plug the case into a 3.5mm or USB-C jack in the treadmill, TV or the in-flight entertainment system on a plane and enjoy sound like never before.

Their ReSound hearing aid and Jabra earbud companies have joined forces this year…
From CNET:
“That’s exactly what happened after Jabra unveiled its new Elite 10 and Elite 8 Gen 2 earbuds, and subsequently announced that GN, its parent company, had decided to gradually wind down the Jabra Elite product line and “focus on professional audio, video and OTC hearing products and solutions, including true wireless innovation, in its other product lines.””
I am wondering if I can pair the Jabra LE Audio earbud case to my Jabra EP 20 HAs. It would be nice to try.
With my Samsung S23 I pair and unpair through the app.
I have a question: if my aids have le audio will they connect to say a theater system that is audio cast?
They are supposed to. There is a Listen to Auracast broadcast option in the Bluetooth HA settings.
Think you I don’t get my INTENT aids until th 21st and just trying to understand about the connectivity.
My audiologist told me a few days ago that a customer with the Resound Nexias (which are same as Jabra EP 20) was recently startled when she found that she was getting shopping offers and promotions directly into her Nexias in a supermarket in the UK.
Which supermarket was this?!
How is that even possible? You have to manually choose/pick the broadcasting channel AFAIK.
It’s possible that the sound was audible to everyone, but the devices were programmed in such a way that it seemed as if it was only audible to the hearing aids.
No one said it was only audible to hearing aids. But the customer knew it was her hearing aids and not a loudspeaker in the store.
Neither the audiologist nor apparently the customer knew anything about LE Audio so it was a surprise, as it was told to me.
I forget which supermarket it was. I have a feeling it was Lidl, but it was one I never use anyway, so definitely not Tesco, Sainsbury or Waitrose. I imagine that this was a trial installation of Auracast in a few stores, of which this was one.
I once had a hearing aid device with a T-coil. There was a loudspeaker in the shop, but it sounded as if it was only audible in my hearing aids.
