Oticon has introduced a new music program in the More called MyMusic that’s supposed to be much better and revolutionary compared to the legacy plain “Music” program that’s on the OPN and OPN S. While that may be true for non-audiophile types listeners, for folks with more discerning ears or maybe professional musicians who can tell a difference, they don’t like MyMusic because it adds a lot more coloration into the original sounds, causing loss of the integrity of the sound they’re used to. It may apply to either live musical instruments or recorded music, all depends on the listner.
If you like the MyMusic program in the More better than the OPN S, then don’t worry about what people on this forum say and just enjoy it. If not, then you can work with your HCP to adjust MyMusic more to your liking like some of the folks on this forum do.
If your audi says that the More has the same programming as your OPN S, if he/she refers to the MyMusic program specifically, then he/she is wrong. Oticon made such a big deal with the new MyMusic program on the More that they even wrote a whitepaper boasting about it. And you cannot get the MyMusic program on the OPN or OPN S as a built-in program. So your audi doesn’t know what he/she is talking about there.
And by the way, for people who don’t like MyMusic on the More and want the original legacy built-in Music program in the OPN and OPN S, they can no longer get it back. So MyMusic is now exclusive on the More only, and the legacy Music program is exclusive on the OPN/S only.
I really like the More 1 MyMusic program, and I am an audiophile. I tuned my program to work with over the ear headphones. I have one program for open back headphones (Focal Clear), and one for closed back headphones (Mark Levinson 5909). Recently, I ruined one of my More 1s at sea (water exposure), and it was a few weeks before I got them back. During that time I used my KS10/P90 backup HAs. Even though I also fine-tuned the music program on those, it is night and day for me when it comes to music appreciation. In fact, I barely listened to music until I got the More 1 back. To me, the More 1 are worth having for the MyMusic program alone.
I have a pair of More2 inbound. Does MyMusic get set as one of the 4 programs at fitting, or is it a separate thing accessed through the app? I searched online and didn’t find an answer. TIA.
Thanks! Hmm, if a person wants Sound Booster, MyMusic, and TV adapter programs, that fills up the dance card! I’d better not find any other programs I want.
With my More aids, the More Sound Booster is a switch (normally off or you turn it on) in the P1 program and the TV adapter does not use a program slot. I have a P2 program that helps reduce wind noise a bit so I have two program slots available.
4 Program slots available + TV Adapter.
Sound Booster is not a program, but available to toggle on in the General Program only within the ON App.
Be aware, you can have 2 General Programs programed differently and named General and get the Sound Booster on both.
Sound Booster is available in a designated General Problem, which is normally P1. You can have more than 1 General Program - like in the P4 slot - and still get the use of Sound Booster in each of the Gen programs.
Also, to add to this just for completeness, pairing with a ConnectClip will add another program slot for the ConnectClip (like how it’s done with the TV Adapter) and doesn’t take up the 4 main program slots. It also adds another slot for the Remote Mic that’s part of the ConnectClip as well that doesn’t interfere with the 4 main program slots either. But if the TV Adapter or the ConnectClip is not ON and connected to the HAs, you won’t see those slots appear.
The EduMic may add another slot similarly (if you have one and it’s ON and connected to your HAs), but I don’t have it so I can’t say for sure.
The bottom line is like @biggar and @Mago said, the accessories don’t invade into the 4 main program slots allocated for the HAs. They only add on to them if ON and paired and connected.
I had assumed the aids would automatically connect to the clip when detected after initial pairing. If the Rexton aids had a separate program for their MultiMic that would have likely resolved some of my issues with them.
Yes, once the aids and the ConnectClip are paired, the Clip will automatically detect and connect to the aids when turned on. And once they’re connected, if you cycle through the 4 main programs via the buttons, you will find a slot for the ConnectClip and another slot for the RemoteMic added in between the first and the fourth programs. While connect to the Clip, the environmental sound picked up by the aids will use the P1 settings.
I guess they put a slot in for the Clip and the RemoteMic to allow you to cycle out (and back in) of those connections into one of the 4 main programs if you want to, without having to turn off the ConnectClip.
